Who would have thought it.
Things I've knitted now.
2 scarves, 2 hats, one shawl, a bit of a jumper.
Me. It's bloody amazing!
I spent.... £60 on wool last month. Shocking behaviour. Tis going to turn itself into a bag, some "gauntlets" (didn't know I was a knight - did you!) and a teddy bear. Awww.
desperate to become an angel yarn forum member, but they're still not letting people in. It's just sooooooo unfaiiiirrrr. *stamps feet, and goes upstairs to listen to her tapes*.

So I've not thrown in the wooly towel yet, still knitting away. I just finished my nephews beanie and I'm thinking of going into business creating woolie coffee cup holders.
They go around your standard take-away coffee (and stretch to a large) cup in place of the cardboard holders. There are loops for your fingers, so no-one can knock it out of your hand on the bus anymore. That happened to me once, and I haven't gotten on the bus since. Oh the shame!
Anyway, it's a gorgeous little invention and can be girly or masculine. And it's environmentally frendly, relatively cheap and entirely original!
Get me!

Also,
Try this:
Stovies.
2 leeks
2 carrotts
1 can of corned beef
many potatoes
veg stock, beef stock
Gravy / salt / pepper
WHACK it all in a pressure cooker/casserole dish. Pressure cook for around 30 - 40mins, casserole for 2 hours.
Add more Bisto to thicken the gravy, eat with lots of chunky bread.
SO tasty i could live on it for ever.
Keeps for a couple of days in the fridge (you won't need to keep it).

New Year, new hobby. Knitting.
I know what you're all thinking, but this one isn't going to be like the clarinet, ballet, scrap-booking, comics, ice-skating, swimming, the guitar, the brownies or any of the other "practice" hobbies.
This one's for keeps, like Everton and acting.
So far this year I've made one and a bit scarves (yawn-o-rama) and spent about £50 on supplies for future projects.
Lots of my friends think i've aged before my time, and they may well be right, but i say "Screw You!". Which is why I don't have many friends.
Starting was pretty easy, I got the hang of knitting and purling and whatnot which is all you really need to be a scarf maker. There's a whole lot of things I don't understand, and I just skip over those bits. Like slipping stitches off rows to make it neat. How is that neat? That's just bits missing.
The way I see it, freestyling leads to unique "pieces", which I can then sell on e-bay for a gazzillion poounds.
I guarranteeeee that by 2010, I'll be some sort of scarf seller. If I can find a wool shop in London that doesn't suck. John Lewis is SO expensive, it's not even funny and the one next to me is run by a crazy.
My next project is a wicked cool beanie hat and a tote bag that looks like grass. Don't worry, i'll keep you all posted on how they go. Whether you like it or not...
